Over 400 electric beds purchased for public hospitals

A batch of 469 new electric beds are being distributed to public hospitals island-wide in preparation for the national health scheme (Gesy), the health ministry said on Thursday.

In the framework of efforts to upgrade autonomous public hospitals in cooperation with the state health services (Okypy), the ministry said it had begun “the enhancement and modernisation of public hospital equipment.”

The new beds will be distributed across public hospitals depending on their level of need, the ministry said. Additional children’s beds have also been purchased for the Makarios Hospital, where they are expected to be delivered by the end of the month.
