Two teenage boys, 16 and 17, were arrested in Moni, Limassol, after they were found standing around a fire near a church early Saturday morning, police said.

Police are running a campaign to stamp out the use of fireworks and juvenile delinquency in the lead up to Easter, according to a police announcement on Saturday.

Authorities said that the boys were discovered standing around a fire in an open field at approximately 12:15am.

The boys were arrested and described as ‘bums and loiterers’ in the police announcement.

The teens were charged in writing and released, until a court date is scheduled.

Police are continuing their investigations.
