To get behind an artist’s idea, vision and inside their mindset walking around an exhibition is sometimes not enough. While the Things That Go Together exhibition has been on at NiMac (The Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre, Associated with the Pierides Foundation) since early March the Cypriot designer behind it, Michael Anastassiades, will give a greater insight on Tuesday with a talk at Theatro Polis – OPAP.
Things That Go Together reflects on the designer’s 12-year practice to date – from his eponymous brand to his extensive studio collaborations with established manufacturers.
The show presents Anastassiades’ design process through his research, his personal collection of objects and finished works from the studio archive. The talk sees Anastassiades’ explain in detail his work, principles of his design and significant influences that have shaped his practice.
