English theatre takes in Limassol

It’s been a long wait for English language theatre lovers as the majority of plays are in Greek and some in Russian with the exception of a few screenings from the National Theatre. But a production in English this week will entertain the Limassol public.

Following the success of Get Staffed when it was presented in Nicosia supporting the Karaiskakio Foundation with 600 tickets sold, Rotary Club of Limassol Kourion and Rotary Club of Nicosia decided to expand the support to Limassol.

Get Staffed is a sit-com set around the opening day of a trendy new hotel. The staff are an eclectic mix of personalities, ranging from a lascivious, nose-blind chef to a confident, militant vegan chambermaid with personal hygiene problems. Over the events of the day, the married yet acrimonious owners attempt to deal with the chaotic events of their newly purchased hotel’s grand opening, with often farcical and hilarious results.

Directing the play is David Dimitriou who debuted as a director in 2018 with ACT’s A Bunch of Amateurs after having been involved in the drama industry for a long time.

Performances are Wednesday through Friday with the net profits from ticket sales benefiting people with Alzheimers, and People with Disabilities.
