Plan to eliminate hepatitis C by 2030

Cabinet on Wednesday approved the national plan for eliminating hepatitis C by 2030.

The plan was prepared by a national committee set up to deal with hepatitis C in cooperation with state services from various ministries and non-governmental organisations.

The aim is the gradual management, control and elimination of hepatitis C by 2030 within the framework set by the World Health Organisation.

The plan includes prevention through public awareness on the disease , restructuring of state services, focusing on prediagnosis, diagnosis and treatment, and monitoring, rehabilitation and chronic care.
