As one of the few bands bringing rock’n’roll and rockabilly music to the island, The Xiles celebrate the nostalgia of the 1950s and 60s. Active on the local music scene for the last five years, the trio has played at numerous events including the Junkin’ Cyprus festival which celebrates that era with its pinball machines, jukeboxes, pinup hair and classic cars.
Now they are taking the stage at another big annual festival, the Cyprus Comic Con. Amid cosplay characters, gaming tournaments and film screenings, music couldn’t not be a part of the festival. And so, on Saturday The Xiles will hit the stage with a great mix of well-known favourites and more obscure songs plus some of their own compositions that’ll have everyone dancing.
And that’s not all for the band this month. Prior to their Comic Con performance, lead singer and bassist Ian The Joopster, guitar/pianist Göran The Hammer and drummer Dave The Animal, as they’re known, will be in Paphos for a performance. On Friday they’ll rock at the Frog and Toad in Coral Bay.
