Get in the Easter spirit with bees

Easter is just around the corner and besides the religious aspect it’s also a time when many people get to relax during a couple of days off work, not to mention schools with a fortnight off. For teachers this is a blessing but can be a challenge for parents trying to entertain their children.

This Easter season to get your kids, and possibly yourself, unglued from screens, venture out into nature and enjoy some hands-on workshops with a seasonal theme. Ecophysis Ltd is back with another full day of activities getting to know beehives and painting Easter eggs.

A whole bunch of different workshops are planned for Thursday that will entertain both kids and adults. The day will start at 10am with a candle-making workshop with beeswax and herbs, resulting in a handmade candle you can take home afterwards.

An hour later at 11am, two Easter egg workshops will take place. One includes also visiting the hives while the other will require collecting daisies and leaves to be used as shapes and prints on the eggs. The painting of the eggs will be with natural and ecological dying methods, so you can learn all about that too.

Next will be a bee tour, with the appropriate beekeeper’s suit on of course, and a visit to the bottling laboratory where the process of honey extraction and bottling will be explained. Honey tasting will follow along with a short lecture about the life of the bees, beekeeping activities of spring and hive products.

The day will end in true Easter and spring style with an outdoor picnic brunch. Fresh local produce will be served such as anari cheese, village bread, olives and fruits. And throughout the event coffee, herbal tea and homemade mandarin squash will be offered.

The workshops have different participation costs ranging from €3 to €15 and booking is required. If you’re more than 4 people, there’s a 15% discount so.
