Patriarchs of region hold meeting in Nicosia

Patriarchs Theodore of Alexandria, John of Antioch, and Theophilos of Jerusalem held a joint meeting in Nicosia on Thursday with Archbishop Chrysostomos.

During the meeting the four Primates discussed the need for stability in the Middle East. They discussed the presence of Christians in the region and how to best cooperate.

They also called on politicians to work towards eradicating injustices suffered by people as a result of wars and occupation.

In addition, the four church leaders discussed various ecclesial problems within the Orthodox Church and looked at ways to resolve them.

They also talked about the problems that arose after the granting of autocephaly to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine.
