Tourist’s bag and valuables stolen

Items and cash worth thousands of euros were stolen from a tourist in a shop in Larnaca on Thursday afternoon.

The Palestinian woman, who had travelled to Cyprus from Jordan, left her handbag outside the changing room while she was trying on clothes in the shop in central Larnaca at around 6pm.

When she came out of the changing room the bag was gone.

According to the woman the bag was worth €2,000. She reported it contained rings and two mobile phones worth €3,000, in addition to €1,600, $2,160 and some Jordanian dinars and Israeli shekel.

The security camera footage of the shop will be checked and some items have been seized by police as evidence.
