FM hosts Iftar dinner for Muslim-country ambassadors

Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides on Tuesday night hosted an Iftar dinner in honour of ambassadors from countries of the Muslim world who are based in Nicosia, on the occasion of Ramadan.

The minister conveyed the President`s determination for further enhancement of bilateral ties and the bonds of friendship.

Christodoulides told the ambassadors that the dinner was an excellent opportunity for every individual, regardless of religion, to reaffirm his or her commitment to the universal values ​​of mutual respect, unity, tolerance and acceptance and the collective obligation to strive for the promotion of peace , justice and dignity.

He added that the dinner on the occasion of Ramadan, has been established by the ministry as an annual tradition and it demonstrated the respect and recognition by the Republic of Cyprus of the importance of Ramadan for Muslims.
