Supermarket employee charged with selling vodka to teen girl

Alcohol prices are lower than the EU average

A 21-year-old employee at a supermarket in the tourist area of Yermasoyia has been charged with selling alcohol to a 13-year-old girl who was found in a comatose state after drinking an excessive amount of alcohol on Sunday.

The woman was taken to a police station for questioning after police were told she was the person selling vodka to the girl though there are signs in the supermarket warning the sale of alcoholic beverages to anyone under the age of 17 was not allowed.

According to police, the suspect made some statements which are being investigated.
