Arrest after man reports he was attacked

Paphos police arrested a man in connection with causing bodily harm and creating a public disturbance shortly after midnight on Thursday morning.

According to police, a 37-year-old man reported at 9.15pm on Wednesday that earlier in the afternoon, at 5pm, somebody attacked him by hitting him in the face and on his head while he was at a car rental in Paphos.

People who were nearby watched the incident and intervened.

The suspect, a 30-year-old man, left the place shouting and gesturing.

The 37-year-old man was examined by a doctor who diagnosed him with a broken nose and injuries to his face.

The arrested man is being detained pending further investigations.
