Man arrested over home break-in and theft

Police arrested a 41-year-old man in Paphos on Thursday in connection with the theft of household items worth €6,000.

A woman told police on earlier on Thursday that unknown perpetrators had broken into her apartment in the Paphos district between May 9 and 13 and had stolen a sound system, two crystal chandeliers and other items.

After conducting investigations police officers searched the flat of a suspect, a 41-year-old man, at 9pm. During the search they found the chandeliers and sound system.

The suspect was arrested on the spot as he failed to explain how the items came to be in his possession.
