Christofias back on a respirator

Former president Demetris Christofias

Former president Demetris Christofias was placed back on a respirator, his doctors said on Thursday, two days after he showed improvement and was removed.

According to an announcement, Christofias’ condition still needs multifaceted support.

Christofias, 72, had been transferred to the Nicosia general hospital’s ICU on May 20 with acute respiratory problems.

His doctor had said two days ago that he was able to eat, get out of bed, and was completely aware of his environment.
