Fatal traffic accident in Limassol

A 60-year-old man died after being hit by a taxi in Limassol on Wednesday evening.

According to police, Yiannakis Kleovoulos was trying to cross Makarios avenue at 8.20pm when he was hit by the car.

The victim was taken to Limassol general hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The 63-year-old taxi driver tested negative for alcohol.

He was questioned and arrested to facilitate police investigations into the cause of the accident.
