Woman remanded after €10,000 stolen from company (Updated)

A Paphos court on Thursday remanded in custody a woman arrested a day earlier on suspicion of embezzling more than €10,000 from her former employer.

She was remanded in custody for four days while investigations continue. The suspect also faces accusations of forgery.

A company for whom the woman used to work had reported to police earlier this week that an audit revealed the money was missing.

Evidence pointed to the involvement of the woman, employed at the company from 2015 until May this year.

She allegedly forged receipts and pocketed the money.
