14-year-old driver pulled over in Limassol

Police caught a 14-year-old driver in Limassol early on Friday morning after a chase during which the youngster committed a number of traffic offences.

Around 3.20am, officers signaled for a car to stop, but the driver picked up speed instead, driving dangerously in his attempt to flee.

The officers followed the driver who jumped a number of red lights before they caught up with him.

After he was stopped officers discovered the driver of the vehicle was a 14-year-old resident of Limassol. Another four minors, aged 15 to 17, were with him in the car.

They were all taken to a police station and their parents called.

The driver and his father, the owner of the car, were charged.

The passengers were handed over to their parents.
