Nicosia indulges in spiritual talk

In a Nicosia first, Brahmachari Shubamrita Chaitanya, the discipline of Amma, will deliver a spiritual and motivational talk on the topic of ‘Finding our true home’ on June 20 at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation.

Br. Shubamrita’s talks are applicable to all fields of life: nurturing personal growth through spiritual understanding and practices, illustrating effective management techniques for both professional and personal life, empowering youth to become responsible leaders and fostering dialogue between religious traditions.

During his programme, he will give a talk on the practical application of timeless spiritual principles and practices in day-to-day life. He will also sing devotional songs and lead a brief guided meditation based on the belief that practical spiritual wisdom, music and guided meditation help to reconnect with your inner centre of strength, peace and joy.

Br. Shubamrita has lived with Mata Amritanandamayi (Amma) as a monastic disciple since 1989 and regularly gives lectures and seminars on stress management and meditation throughout Europe, Africa, India and the Middle East. Drawing on more than 20 years of experience as one of Amma’s closest disciples and personal translators, Br. Shubamrita shares his understanding of the Eastern spiritual traditions in practical and easily understandable terms. Br. Shubamrita is also known as a gifted singer/songwriter.

If you’ve yet to come across Amma, she is Sri Mata Amritanandamayi, a globally recognised humanitarian and spiritual leader, known throughout the world as ‘Amma’. She has served the world-community for decades, imparting wisdom, strength and inspiration.

Through her extraordinary acts of love, inner strength and self-sacrifice, Amma has inspired thousands to follow in her path of service to humanity.

Amma has travelled the world for more than 30 years, bringing love, hope and peace through her talks and her darshan – her signature embrace that is a powerful symbol of unconditional love. Accessible to everyone, she has hugged an estimated 38 million people worldwide, and inspired a global volunteer-based humanitarian movement, Embracing the World (ETW).

With this in mind, a short video of Amma’s life and work will be shown on June 20. The talk will be in English with simultaneous translation into Greek.
