Some Larnaca villages without power after tractor hits pole

Some villages in the Larnaca district were left without power on Friday after a tractor hit an electricity pole.

EAC spokeswoman Christina Papadopoulou said the utility cut off power to the villages of Kofinou, Skarinou, Psematismenos, Ayios Theodoros and Chirokitia, as a precautionary measure until the damage was repaired.

The tractor hit the pole at around 4pm, she said, and it was decided to interrupt power to those villages for safety reasons.

EAC crews are on site trying to replace the pole and restore the damage, she said.
