Two motorcyclists injured in separate accidents, one critical

A 21-year-old Iranian national on a food-delivery run, was critically injured in a road accident in Limassol on Saturday night, police said.

The accident happened just after 9pm on Yiannos Kranidiotis Street. According to the Police, the 21-year-old’s moped collided with a car driven by a 19-year-old at a turn.
The injured man was taken by ambulance to Limassol Hospital, where he was found to have sustained a craniocerebral injury and was bleeding internally.

Because of the severity of his condition, he was transferred to the general hospital of Nicosia, where he is in the intensive care unit.

Also in a traffic accident that happened at 7.45pm Saturday, a 32-year-old biker was injured. According to police, the accident happened when the rider tried to turn right at the junction of Aeschylus and Arachova streets and was hit by a car driven by a 51-year-old woman.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet was seriously injured and taken to Limassol hospital.
