Praise for honest security guard

A security guard who found a wallet with over 1,400 euros inside and helped get it returned to its owner has been congratulated by his fellow security officers.

Angelos Charalambous, a security officer at the Paphos Kings Avenue Mall, found the wallet containing 1,450 euros during a regular check of the Mall’s carpark.

With the help of the Paphos police, the owner of the wallet was found and notified.

In a written announcement on Wednesday, the Association of Private Guards and Private Security Officers publicly congratulated Charalambous on his good deed.

Such cases, the association said, “make us all proud”, adding that at the first event organised by the association, they will award their colleague.
