Swedish tourist drowns in Protaras

A 75-year-old woman from Sweden drowned on Thursday at a beach in Protaras.

According to the police, the woman lost consciousness while swimming. She was spotted by bathers who managed to drag her ashore.

The woman was rushed to Paralimni hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.

A preliminary inspection ruled out foul play. A full autopsy will be carried out on Friday.
