Emergency services on the scene after car spotted in lake (update)

Firemen, members of the Emak police unit and divers were mobilised at about 3.30 on Sunday afternoon after it was reported that a vehicle had somehow got into a lake in the Ayios Ioannis area of Nicosia near Kato Moni.

The car is reported to be an old double cabin which was reported stolen by the owner.

The car has no number plates and may have been in the lake for the last two to three months.

There was nobody inside it.
