A press conference on ’50+ Years of Vassiliko Cement Works’ and its ‘Contribution to the Circular Economy, the Environment and Humanity’ took place on Thursday, October 24, at its facility in Vassiliko.
The conference aimed to inform the media about the company’s evolution, in the context of its respect and contribution to the Cypriot society.
During the conference, the company’s Executive Chairman said that the Vassiliko Cement Works was the largest production plant in Europe and was one of 12 out of 33 countries in Europe where only one producer is operating. In addition, the industrial port, which was built entirely by the company, was a core for the development of the area’s energy hub.
The presentations focused on the evolution of the company in complete harmony with the environment, the cement market, the circular economy through alternative fuel management, energy management, the creation of photovoltaic parks, and its contribution to society through specific Corporate Social Responsibility actions.
A dialogue with media representatives also took place during the conference in order for them to draw a complete picture of the company.
Vassiliko Cement Works’ goal is to remain a sustainable company, it said, stable in its growth and known for the quality of its product, remaining the preferred supplier to its customers base, and being known as an attractive employer.
