An educational seminar on the subject of the political history of Paphos and the role of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus, will take place in the town on Sunday.
The ‘Hiroshima Peacebuilders Centre’ educational seminar, a research institute in the Japanese city that was hit by the first atomic bomb of World War II and has since become a global symbol of peace, will take place at Ibrahims Khan on November 10 at 4.30pm.
The seminar is supported by Paphos municipality and will be attended by around 20 researchers and academics from Japan, Great Britain and Canada.
The seminar was initiated by a Professor at the School of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Kent, Neophytos Loizides, who will also be a keynote speaker.
The seminar will be held in English and will also include a welcome speech by the Mayor of Paphos Phedonas Phedonos. Foreign participants will also tour Mouttalos and will be informed about the political history of the area by educator George Pachis.
