House plenum to observe gatherings ban

The House plenary session on Friday will be observing the order banning gatherings of more than 75 people, which means only the 56 MPs and minimum administrative staff will be allowed in.

House spokesman Paris Potamitis told the Cyprus News Agency that the session will be broadcast live on television while reporters who want to attend will have to watch it on television in the building’s cafeteria.

House President Demetris Syllouris and other members of a delegation who visited Greece recently have placed themselves in self-isolation since Tuesday.

Green party chairman Giorgos Perdikis has also isolated himself at home after a Greece trip.
