Teen driver injured after crashing car

From the violent collision, one of the two occupants of the motorcycle was fatally injured and was taken to Limassol general hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A 16-year-old girl is in Larnaca general hospital with head injuries after she crashed the car she was driving early on Sunday.

Police said they were alerted just after 2am on Sunday of an accident in Aaradippou.  It emerged that the driver, a 16-year-old girl, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a concrete wall and overturned.

Another 16-year-old girl was also in the car.

Both girls were taken to the Larnaca general hospital. The driver was diagnosed with head injuries and was kept for further treatment. The other teen was given first aid and discharged.

The 16-year-old had no driver’s licence or insurance. Police said she used the vehicle without the owner’s consent.
