Coronavirus: health ministry says zero new cases in past 24 hours (Updated)

No new coronavirus cases were announced by the health ministry on Friday, leaving the total at 999.

A total of 1,538 tests were processed in the last 24 hours, the ministry added.

From a sampling of 10,000 workers who returned to their jobs during the second and third phase of lifting restrictions, 53 tests were processed, the ministry said.

The ministry added they processed, 314 from individuals tested on private initiative, 446 passengers and repatriated individuals, 174 from state hospital labs, six migrant camps, 180 from court employees, and 72 from individuals ordered to be tested by their doctor.

One person is continuing to be treated with Covid-19 at Famagusta General, the reference hospital.  The ministry added, the individual’s condition is stable.
