Three remanded after drugs bust at Paphos hotel (updated)

Three people aged 44, 40 and 33, arrested in Paphos on Saturday night for the illegal possession of drugs, intent to provide drugs and illegal possession of property were remanded for five days on Sunday by the Paphos district court.

Stelios Sergides of the drugs squad YKAN told the Cyprus News Agency suspicious items were found during a search of their hotel room in Paphos, which was carried out with a warrant after a tip off. All three are from Limassol.

The search uncovered 17g of cannabis, 19g of cocaine and 34,685 euros in cash.

All three were arrested.

Sergides said there is an outstanding arrest warrant against the 44-year-old relating to the illegal possession with intent to supply 800g cocaine while he is also a suspect in another case.

He said the 44-year-old was taken to Limassol for investigations although he will be presented later at Paphos district court.
