Coronavirus: Three new cases (updated)

Health authorities on Wednesday announced three new coronavirus cases, bringing the number up to 1,008.

The three new cases were detected from a total of 1,691 tests.

One of the cases concerns a hotel worker in Paphos while the second one is an Israeli permanent resident who got tested privately after displaying symptoms of the virus.

Authorities were investigating how the Israeli had contracted the virus as he has no travel history.

The third case concerns a person who returned from Romania on Tuesday.

The individual was among 653 passengers tested after their arrival on the island.

Health authorities are tracking their contacts.

In the north, Turkish Cypriots reported one new case, the wife of a previously confirmed case, among 778 tests.
