Coronavirus: Famagusta traffic officers self-isolate after positive case found in the ranks

Police officers working at the Famagusta traffic department have been placed in self-isolation for 14 days after the detection of a positive Covid case within the ranks, CNA reported on Sunday.

Police spokesman Christos Andreou confirmed that “a person positive for the coronavirus was identified at the Famagusta police department. All the protocols of the ministry of health were immediately implemented and the person went into self-isolation.”

He added that according to the protocols all members of the force who came in contact with the positive case, were also placed in self-isolation and are being tested.

Police, he said, were a frontline service time to time there had been cases of coronavirus within the force in various departments. The force follows health protocols to the letter, he added.
