Man wanted for causing bodily harm arrested

Paphos police on Wednesday arrested a man who was wanted for a case of robbery and causing bodily harm.

The incident happened at noon on Sunday.

A 23-year-old man told police that while he was walking to a parking place he was followed by a 37-year-old man on a motorbike who had an unknown female as a passenger.

He allegedly pulled a knife when the young man tried to get away, followed him and attacked him with his helmet, hitting his body and head.

He then pulled a gold-plated chain worth €80 from his neck and fled.

The victim visited the A&E department of Paphos hospital where he was diagnosed with bruises and an injury to his right shoulder.

An arrest warrant was issued against the 37-year-old. He was found on Wednesday at around 7pm and arrested.
