Drunk driver arrested after injuring motorcyclist

Paphos police on Thursday arrested a driver in connection with drunk driving and causing an accident.

According to police, the 45-year-old man, a resident of Paphos, drove through a red light on Agapinoros street at around 4pm.

He then collided with a moped. The 30-year-old motorcyclist was slightly injured and taken by ambulance to Paphos general hospital where he received first aid before he was discharged.

Both men were tested for alcohol.

The 30-year-old was not under the influence, but the 45-year-old tested positive, with an indication of 127μg instead of the permitted 22μg.
