Supermarket employee suspected of stealing almost €200,000 from tills

Paphos police have arrested a 53-year-old woman, suspected of stealing almost €200,000 from the tills at the supermarket where she worked.

According to the police, the manager of the supermarket filed a complaint with authorities on Friday, saying the woman failed to turn over the till takings from October 9 to 19, which totalled €186,000.

Police found the woman in Nicosia at 8:30pm on Friday. She was arrested and taken to Paphos holding cells.

The woman appeared in court on Saturday and was remanded for six days.
