Man arrested for drug driving

During a routine check, police in Larnaca early on Sunday morning stopped a car being driven by a 23-year-old.

A narcotest performed in situ was positive so he was taken to the station for further tests to be examined by a lab.

He was not wearing a seatbelt, while the car had an exhaust booster, had no brake lights and appeared to have had other alterations so the driver was told to take it for a check at the Road Transport department.

Further investigations against the suspect showed 19 outstanding fines against him with a total value of €6,969.
