The summer has not finished yet. Hot weather is expected on Monday and Tuesday, with the Kitas weather portal predicting temperatures 6 to 10 degrees Celsius higher than usual for late October.

Temperatures are likely to climb to 36C inland on both days, the met office announced on Monday morning.

In coastal areas it will be cooler, a maximum of 31C to 33C.

At night, the lowest temperature is forecast to be 16C in the Nicosia region and 18C near the sea.

On Wednesday it is set to be markedly cooler but still hotter than normal for the time of the year.

Some clouds may form during the week, and there is a possibility of rain or thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday.
