New foreign ministry website

The foreign ministry

The new website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (www.mfa.gov.cy) went online on Tuesday for a three-week trial period, ahead of its official launch on November 18.

An announcement issued by the ministry on Wednesday said the new website “is designed to enhance interactivity and upgrade the way in which the Ministry communicates with the public, both in Cyprus and abroad, on issues related to the foreign policy of Cyprus and the Ministry’s work.”

In addition, it planned to offer “useful information concerning services provided to public,” although the announcement did not elaborate.

The website, through which, the ministry says, “communication becomes more direct than ever,” features a carousel with the five latest news stories involving the ministry.

On the official launch-date a monthly Blog will appear, “the idea being to provide insights and analysis, like never before on the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as seen by our officials, diplomats and other members of staff members(sic)serving both at headquarters and abroad.”
