EAC to replace over 6,000 army lights with LED

The defence ministry signed an agreement with the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) on Thursday for the replacement of 6,600 energy saving lights with LED lighting in military camps.

The agreement includes an eight-year maintenance and management deal.

The replacements, according to a study-proposal carried out by the authority, is expected to save about 67 per cent energy.

The EAC will begin the replacement process of 2,.200 lights between November this year, and September 2021.

The remaining 4,400 lights will be replaced by 2023.
