Coronavirus: 43 booked during first night of islandwide curfew

Police booked 43 individuals who failed to comply with coronavirus measures from Thursday until Friday, 11 of them for ignoring the islandwide curfew after 11pm which came in effect on Thursday.

Thirty-one were fined for not wearing masks. One owner of an establishment in Paphos was also booked.

In total, 2,071 inspections were carried out in 24 hours, 502 in Nicosia, 282 in Limassol, 230 in Paphos, 441 in Larnaca, 481 in the Famagusta district and 91 around Morphou.

Marine police did not book anybody as the result of 44 checks.
