“Music has many benefits for children. It gives them joy, entertainment and helps them create new relationships,” the municipality said in an announcement on their social media account.

The municipality posted photos of the children during practice while observing social distancing, saying they are working “tirelessly” and proving “that culture can survive and be reborn under any conditions”.

It said it established the children’s philharmonic, during a time when the pandemic is affecting everyone’s life.

Conducting the philharmonic is Eleni Papadopoulou, head of the Municipal Conservatory and member of the Municipal Philharmonic with the cooperation of five specialised instructors.
