The skeletal remains found by hunters last week under the Episkopi motorway bridge were identified as British national Bruce Diggle, 82, who had been reported as missing last July, police said on Sunday.

The remains were located by hunters in an inaccessible area near Episkopi last Sunday morning.

Police said they identified the remains through DNA testing, as those of Diggle, who was missing since July 19, after he went for a walk in the rural area of Sotira, Limassol. At one point, the 82-year-old stopped following the group in order to return to the place where their vehicles were parked, on the main road between the villages of Kantou and Sotira. He was missing since.
