The Health Ministry announced 111 new coronavirus cases from 2111 tests on Monday, as the number of patients in hospital rose to a record 85 and the total number of cases since the start of the outbreak surged above 6000.

The ministry said the number of tests is clearly lower because of the weekend when some labs are closed.

Of the 2111 tests, 968 were carried out as part of checks on passengers with nine testing positive.

Another 39 tested positive from 354 tests carried out by private initiative, and 15 from 243 tests at hospital labs. Finally, six cases were detected from 210 tests from referrals from personal doctors and checks of special groups.

Today’s results bring the total number of cases to 6,098.
