Steps to be discussed by party leaders

Council Of Leaders

The next steps to be taken in view of an initiative by UN Secretary-general  Antonio Guterres will be discussed at a council of political party leaders chaired by President Nicos Anastasiades on Wednesday morning.

Guterres suggested to convene an informal five-party conference on the Cyprus issue and has asked UN Secretary-general special envoy Jane Holl Lute to explore the possibilities.

On Monday, the special envoy informed Anastasiades she intends to visit Cyprus at the end of November.

President Anastasiades is also expected to brief the leaders on his informal meeting with Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar on November 3.
