Cavusoglu arrives in the north


Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu arrived in the north on Friday ahead of President Tayyip Erdogan’s visit on Sunday to take part in celebrations for the unilateral declaration of the Turkish Cypriot breakaway state.

Cavusoglu announced his arrival on Twitter, saying he came for the preparations of Erdogan’s visit, which according to the Turkish president will include a picnic at the ghost town of Varosha.

A military parade will also be held in Nicosia at 12.30pm on Sunday.
