Coronavirus: Police report 29 individuals, three businesses flouting measures

Police said they have issued fines to 29 individuals and three establishments in the past 24 hours as part of checks to ensure measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus were followed.

Police said they carried out 2,310 inspections across the Republic, most in the district of Nicosia, 513, where six individuals were booked.

In Limassol, police fined nine individuals during 468 checks and four in Larnaca in 478.

In Famagusta, police carried out 405 checks and reported seven people while Paphos saw three establishments and one individual fined during 318 inspections.

The establishments were reported for failure to use protective masks and lack of antiseptic and warning signs.

In the Morphou area, police reported one individual in 110 checks. Traffic police also reported an individual.
