Police seeking hit and run driver in Larnaca

Police Car 16

Police on Monday were looking for the driver of a white twin cab vehicle in connection with a hit-and-run in Larnaca, in which a 48-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured.

Police said the vehicle could be an Isuzu or Chevrolet and had been carrying wooden beams at 5.30pm on Sunday on Spyros Kyprianou Avenue before turning in Stratigou Timayia Avenue.

At some point, the beams it was carrying in the back hit a pedestrian who was walking on the left shoulder of the road, police said.

The man was rushed to hospital where he was treated for a fractured thorax and spine. His condition is serious but not life threatening.

Police said anyone with information about the incident should contact 24804149 or the public hotline 1460 or their nearest police station.
