Coronavirus: Close to 3,000 checks, 36 booked


During 24 hours from Monday until Tuesday, police booked 32 individuals and four premises for violating Covid-19 decrees, the result of 2,941 checks.

Most of them, 754, were carried out in Nicosia. In Limassol the number of inspections was 468, in Larnaca 727, in Paphos 419, in Famagusta 383 and in Morphou 172.

Five persons were booked in Nicosia, 13 in Limassol, three in Larnaca, seven in Paphos and four in Famagusta.

Three of the establishments found to have breached the measures are located in Paphos and one is in the Famagusta district.

18 inspections by marine police did not result in anybody being fined.
