A Christmas tree made out of car parts has been put up outside the police museum to spread awareness about road safety.
Maths teacher Yiannis Lazarou, who makes Christmas trees with recyclable materials, decided to collaborate with the traffic police this year to promote road awareness.
“Drive safely! At Christmas we have one more reason to do so,” Lazarou said.
The tree includes broken traffic lights that will be lit up on Friday night.
“We made arrangements so that the red, yellow and green lights light up all together as to not confuse the drivers,” police told the Cyprus Mail.
According to Lazarou’s Facebook post, the lights will be on during the holidays, “just like our eyes that must be open on the road”.
