Coronavirus: Oelmek asks for rapid tests to be used in schools

Secondary education teacher’s union Oelmek has asked the education minister to order rapid antigen tests to be used in high schools, which currently show an increased number of coronavirus cases.

The union said it had requested mass screenings at schools where cases were detected, in a meeting with the minister on October 22.

“You had told us then that tests would go ahead as soon as rapid tests ordered by the health ministry arrive,” a statement said. “Unfortunately, while the tests have been imported and mass tests are being carried out, schools have not been included.”
