Coronavirus: Record number of checks sees 116 people booked

Police carried out a record 4,563 checks to detect violations of coronavirus decrees from Sunday until Monday and booked 116 individuals and three premises as a result.

Marine police conducted 28 inspections but did not record any illegalities.

Most checks, 1,409, were done in Limassol, while the number of checks in Nicosia was 998, in Larnaca 686, in Paphos 719, in Famagusta 535 and in the Morphou district 136.

A total of 32 individuals were booked in Nicosia, 19 in Limassol, 27 in Larnaca, 14 in Paphos, 14 in Famagusta and 10 in Morphou.
